Surprise!
So we went in for an ultrasound on Monday, to do a more in-depth ultrasound because the doctor saw something on his VERY low-resolution ultrasound equipment on Friday. We were a little disappointed on Friday because we wanted to go ahead and schedule the C-section because the baby was breech, but he wanted to schedule it on the next visit (which was to be today).
Well...we got into the appointment on Monday and while the ultrasound tech did NOT see what the doctor thought he saw, she did notice the fluid surrounding the baby was VERY low (it was about 3.4 and it should have been around 12 something). So we were not sure what that meant and then the doc comes in and says, we need to take the baby; so we say, "okay, well, he'll have to come this Friday instead of the 19th." Doc says, "no, I mean TODAY." Wha????
So, flash forward to Dan rushing home (while our midwife, thank goodness, stayed with my wife--she was a HUGE blessing and we could not have made it without her) and packing everything, taking the dog to the neighbors, making MANY phone calls to ask for prayer and informing work that he was NOT coming back today.
We had gotten to the hospital for what we thought was going to be a routine ultrasound about 1PM and Josiah was born a little after 9:22PM. He was 8 lbs, 3 oz. and 20 inches long. We're very blessed and beside ourselves with joy.
God has been very faithful to carry us through years of infertility to this point, where we hold our precious Josiah! God's love and mercy are unending; praise His name.
(Thank you all for your continued prayers!)

Yay! He is so perfectly cute! I can't view your message from Monday night (the snafu is no doubt on my end) so I have been stalking you both online for two days, hoping for a picture and some stats! An 8-pounder at 37 weeks....wow! We're so thrilled for you both, and for your sweet boy, who has been given to some pretty amazing parents.
